Grace Waves

Friends:

The power of prayer surpasses every work we might undertake for God’s glory, since it joins our desire for the world’s healing to the mercy of the Holy Spirit.  Intercession directs us in generous love to the needs of our brothers and sisters; the more we hunger for the world’s healing, the more we gain intimacy with the abba-son-spirit God.

I hope you experienced a rich Christmas Season.  Such joyful music and bells and gladness of heart.  Nothing can match the beauty of our children and the stillness of spirit we share at Christmas.  Thanks to those who put up the tree with its decorations and those who took the tree down along with its decorations.

Thanks to Bill for his Art Docent Tours this past Sunday.  We are surrounded by so many gifts whenever our eyes and hearts are opened to receive them.

And thanks to Frank Menkel for his beautiful contributions to our current art exhibit!

Our own Christine Hartmann’s Art Exhibit  “I Stand at Your Gate” is now on display at San Damiano Franciscan Retreat Center.  They have only recently begun hosting Exhibits at San Damiano and Bill Carmel has been their ‘exhibit development guide’.

Keep in your prayers: those killed in the cowardly attacks in France; for those in the cold;  that we might experience the wisdom of the Wise Ones.

First Friday Films – this Friday, January 9:  Join Elana for a Canadian film set in the old Wild West where the local sheriff has a hard time keeping the peace what with crazy people looking for gold and an uneasy truce with the local Apache tribe. He is guided by an Apache medicine man who uses sacred practices to help this young man face his worst demons and transform his life. Run time: 124 minutes; rated R.   See you at 6:30.

The Erik Jekabson Sextet was a knockout this past Sunday.  As one guest told me, “I never take this for granted.  What an amazing chance to get myself regenerated every month.”

Dance to World Music – this Saturday, January 10, 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Peace. Happy New Year!  Kaleo and Elise will begin with a little Qiqong to open your meridians, get the chi flowing and connect heaven and earth.  Music from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, Europe, the indigenous from around the globe and Rock and Roll!  This is so good and so fun for your body and soul!

Dance like nobody’s watching; love like you’ve never been hurt. Sing like nobody’s listening; live like it’s heaven on earth.”  ~Mark Twain
