The Peace Wind Phone
Wind Phones carry your conversation with loved ones who have died or are lost on the wind… allowing heartfelt conversation and connection with our loved ones to continue. Kaze no denwa originated in Japan after the devastating Tsunami in 2011 to help people process grief. The practice has spread around the world.
Our Wind Phone is located south of Maison Drive and north of the Labyrinth, in the Peace Forest area of the Garden. Visitors are welcome to park in the lot accessible from Maison Drive. You will need to leave the concrete walkway and walk on the unpaved path to reach the Wind Phone. Look for the wooden sign to find the way.
Once you arrive, let your heart guide you in conversation.
We appreciate the love and care of Lori Garcia and her family in bringing the Wind Phone to Peace in memory of her nephew Bobby Carter.
