Grace Waves

Friends:

The world depends upon the sounds of children as they learn.

How joyous our last Family Service to see our toddlers wandering, exploring and preaching.  Thanks to Pr. Margareta for the opening of our hearts to all the endless dimensions of the Gospel.

This Sunday we celebrate our St. Francis Animal Blessing and Pet Festival.  We will get to experience the insights of our Confirmands and the wisdom of our furry, feathery, scaly friends.  Thanks to Greg Grebe in advance for coordinating this wonderful community event and ministry..  Invite your friends to join for the Pet Festival from Noon – 2 pm.

Our Jazz Church West 12th Season opens this Sunday at 5:00 pm.  The Jeff Denson Quartet will be playing which includes bass, piano, drums – and for the first time ever a jazz bassoon!

Who can bear to miss this?  Aren’t we blessed!

To everyone at Peace:  Thank you so much for the recognition during workshop, the gifts of abalone earrings and a massage, and…cake last Sunday.  I will be at my high school reunion (50) this weekend but I’ll be back at Peace for the Pet Festival on Oct. 2–and Jazz that evening.

I’ve loved being in the Office. However it is time for me to have more freedom to roam and visit friends and family.  I’m looking forward to several days at Yosemite Tuolumne Meadows next summer–I can even sign up months ahead!  Blessings, Libby

Embodied Prayer – this Saturday, October 1 from 9:30 – 4:00 pm:  East meets west in this journey of deepening your connection to the Divine through Qigong, meditation, and prayer involving your body, mind, and spirit. Drawing from Judeo-Christian, Taoist, and Buddhist wisdom and compassion practices, this series invites you to explore, engage, and share your ever unfolding spiritual awareness. Lead by Kaleo, Elise and myself at San Damiano.  Contact 837-9141 to register.

Dabbie and Steve have moved to Corvallis, Oregon.  They send their love and prayers to all their friends at Peace.  Dabbie will continue as our Webmaster.  They have promised they will return for visits!

Blessings,  Pr. Steve
