My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior. – Mary
For the Fourth Sunday of Advent, in honor of the snow-capped peak of Mt. Diablo, our Living Advent Wreath will present you with the Snow-Capped Wisdom and Hopes of our Elders. Please don’t miss this!
At the conclusion of worship our Advent Mandala (Manger and Star made by the homeless children last year) will be placed in the Mosaic for the first time. Since it is the Winter Solstice you are invited to either Walk the Labyrinth then or join in the Christmas Tree Decorating Party and enjoy a cup of glogg.
Thanks to our Junior High group who has gathered so many cans of food for hungry people this Advent.
Please bring your Giving Tree Gifts to worship this Sunday. If drivers are needed to deliver these gifts, are you willing to be one? Please let me know.

Jazz received a remarkable gift from Fred Randolph and his Quintet this past weekend. The release of our first Jazz at Peace CD was welcomed. Already over $200 of CDs have been purchased! It makes a great Stocking Stuffer. And our thanks to the Jazz at Peace Team – especially Margit and Lars Johansson – who present such a fine Reception for our Jazz Loving Community.
Please keep in your prayers our Catechumens Julie Gillespie, Judy Oliviera, Denise Dawson, Heather Macleod, George Hepner, Dana and Anita Cadonau-Huseby. Also Tom Popp’s mother, Nancy, Annie and those seeking employment.
Rehearsals are underway for our Christmas Eve Worship. Confirmands and Youth Group are leading the way for our delightful Children’s Pageant at 5:00 pm. Such a joyous occasion which always touches the hearts of parents and grandparents. Our 10:00 pm service will have half a dozen excellent singers and superb trumpet music, Candlelight and Eucharist. Worship on Christmas Day is at 10:00 am – always a heartwarming gathering with carols and communion. Please invite friends to join you this Christmas.
Joyous Advent, Pr. Steve
